A large international food processor and contract packager had been unloading large tote bins of tomato paste

manually in their production process.  As many as 4 tote containers require unloading during a shift.  Typically this was done completely by hand scooping the paste in to smaller more manageable size containers and crane lifting and transporting them to cooking kettles for further processing.

The customer realized this was time consuming and not very sanitary due to all the manual handling as well as a safety concern and strain on the employees.  During a sales consultation,  Holland representative proposed a Graco Saniforce model BES Bin Evacuation pumping system.  The Holland representative  and the engineers did a design layout and specification of components required to install piping which would allow the tomato paste to be unloaded quickly and hands off , directly from the tote bins to the cooking kettles .

The customer was excited about this production streamlining and only had concern as to the performance and speed at which the system would deliver the product as designed . They were made aware that Graco had a TRY BEFORE YOU BUY PROGRAM taking all the performance concerns out of the transaction.  If the equipment does not perform as expected there is no risk to the customer.

The customer purchased under this program and the unit was assembled, put in place on site, and was up and running in less than 3 hours. The unit can unload / pump out a full tote bin in approx 15 minutes.  The customer is now considering the same system in two other US plants.

The BES Sanitary Bin Evacuation systems are designed to pump difficult non pourable products such as tomato paste or any other scoopable food product which needs unloading from bulk containers.
